Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks has reopened the three fishing access sites on the Madison River that were closed last week following the Bear Trap 2 fire: Damselfly, Black's Ford, and Greycliff; fire restrictions remain in place.

All three FAS (approximately 23 miles west of Bozeman) are day-use only sites with gravel boat ramps. Black's Ford is an especially popular take-out spot for floaters.

Stage 1 fire restrictions applied late last week remain in place at state fishing access sites and wildlife management areas in Gallatin, Park, Madison, Beaverhead, Silver Bow, Jefferson, Broadwater and the southern half of Lewis and Clark counties. This means all open fires (including campfires) are prohibited - propane or LPG stoves are allowed. There is also no smoking permitted outside of an enclosed vehicle or building, or within an area three feet in diameter that is not cleared of all flammable material.
