Wednesday is going to bring several more inches of snow to southwest Montana, prompting another Winter Weather Advisory for Butte and Missoula.

According to the National Weather Service:

 

  • THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MISSOULA HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND SLICK ROADS... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM TO 11 PM MST WEDNESDAY.
  • IMPACTS/TIMING: AREAS OF LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT AND INCREASE TO MODERATE SNOW WEDNESDAY.
  • COLD GROUND SURFACES WILL SUPPORT SNOW COVERED ROADS AND SLICK DRIVING CONDITIONS THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING. VISIBILITIES WILL OCCASIONALLY REDUCE TO 1/2 MILE IN HEAVIER SNOW.
  • SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 3 TO 4 INCHES IN THE VALLEYS AND 6 TO 8 INCHES IN THE TERRAIN AND OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES.
  • LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... BITTERROOT VALLEY... MISSOULA... HIGHWAY 93 SULA TO LOST TRAIL PASS... LOLO PASS... BUTTE... GEORGETOWN LAKE... HIGHWAY 12 GARRISON TO ELLISTON... HOMESTAKE PASS... MACDONALD PASS
