This weather front coming through Montana is causing dangerous wind chills and treacherous driving conditions. Extreme caution should be used if traveling in southwest Montana for the next couple of days.

According to the National Weather Service:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON MST MONDAY.

WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM MST TUESDAY.

  • LOCATIONS... BIG HOLE PASS... CHIEF JOSEPH PASS... DILLON... MONIDA PASS... ENNIS... NORRIS HILL... RAYNOLDS PASS... TWIN BRIDGES... BATTLE RIDGE PASS... BOZEMAN... BOZEMAN PASS... TARGHEE PASS... WEST YELLOWSTONE.
  • TIMING - LIGHT SNOW CONTINUING INTO MONDAY MORNING BUT WILL THEN DIMINISH TO SNOW FLURRIES MONDAY AFTERNOON.
  • SNOW ACCUMULATIONS - 1 TO 3 INCHES. UP TO 5 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.
  • WIND CHILL - AS LOW AS 20 BELOW TO 30 BELOW ZERO DUE TO TEMPERATURES 20 BELOW TO 10 ABOVE ZERO AND NORTHEAST WINDS 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH.
  • IMPACTS - SNOW-COVERED AND SLICK ROADWAYS WITH AREAS OF REDUCED VISIBILITY IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL HAZARDOUS.
  • VERY COLD WIND CHILLS CAN LEAD TO FROSTBITE IN AS LITTLE AS 30 MINUTES.
  • A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES.
  • BE PREPARED FOR SNOW COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITY.
