Madison and Gallatin counties continue to be under a Winter Storm Warning for several more inches of snow through Saturday afternoon. Some roads a snow covered and quite slick.

According to the National Weather Service:

WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT SATURDAY FOR ALL ELEVATIONS.

  • WHAT: HEAVY SNOW OCCURRING. PLAN ON DIFFICULT TRAVEL CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY DURING THE EVENING COMMUTE TONIGHT.
  • NEW SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES AT LOWER ELEVATIONS
  • 8 TO 16 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS.
  • WHERE: MADISON AND GALLATIN COUNTIES.
  • WHEN: UNTIL 6 PM SATURDAY.
  • BE PREPARED FOR SIGNIFICANT REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY AT TIMES.
  • PERIODS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED THROUGH SATURDAY. HOWEVER A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH MIDNIGHT.
  • SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE DURING THIS TIME AT ALL ELEVATIONS.
