Winter weather is finally here with the Red Lodge, Montana area under a Winter Storm Watch Wednesday through Thursday. The highest elevations could see up to 18 inches of snow!

According to the National Weather Service:

  • HEAVY ACCUMULATING SNOW AND SOME AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW POSSIBLE.
  • TRAVEL COULD BECOME DIFFICULT. * TIMING... WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT.
  • SNOW ACCUMULATION... 12 TO 18 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FT. 6 TO 12 INCHES ALONG MOUNTAIN FOOTHILLS.
  • GREATEST AMOUNTS ON NORTH FACING SLOPES.
  • WINDS... NORTH AT 10 TO 20 MPH. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS..
  • A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS POSSIBLE BUT NOT IMMINENT.
  • AT THIS TIME THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW.
