Several counties will receive some snow on Friday, into early Saturday morning. Several inches are in the forecast for Gallatin, Madison and other counties with snow levels dropping to 5,000 feet.

According to the National Weather Service:

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2 am Friday to 2 am Saturday above 5000 feet.

  • WHAT: snow is expected.
  • Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected, with 4 to 8 inches falling at higher elevations.
  • WHERE: Cascade, Madison, Judith Basin, Meagher and Gallatin counties.
  • WHEN: from 2 am Friday to 2 am Saturday morning.
  • Plan on variable Road conditions, becoming snow covered and slippery at higher elevations.
  • Be prepared for reduced visibility at times.
