Another round of heavy snow, up to a foot in some areas, is headed to southwest Montana this weekend. It's a welcome dump for the higher elevations, although some valleys could see several inches of fresh snow too.

The candidate filing period has closed with the Montana Secretary of State, and we now know who wants to be the next (26th) governor of Montana. The candidates that have filed represent three different political parties.

Montana has some of the best small town bars in America. Our rural bar/restaurants make national 'best of' lists all the time. Montana locals have their own favorites and one is particular is about as authentic as you can get, but has great menu items at very decent prices.

East Glacier in northern Montana is still in a severe deficit with their snowpack. Not all of Montana is in trouble, but thankfully up to 8" of fresh snow should hit the East Glacier basin area by Friday morning. Currently, their snowpack is about 60% of average.

There are few musicians who can truly transport you with their guitar and storytelling. 12 string, slide, steel, or otherwise - Charlie Parr is one of those talented artists, and he'll be returning to Bozeman, performing live at The Elm on April 9th.

It's no secret that Montana has some Minuteman Missiles stashed for a rainy day. If you're familiar with the small town of Monarch, you might already know where one of these nuclear missile silos is located. Pretty subdued place, as it should be.

This first week in April offers all sorts of fun events in the Bozeman area. Warner weather brings more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, along with well-known annual events. A new season is here, so get out with some friends and perhaps meet new friends at these upcoming events.

If you're in the mood to miss your flight out of Bozeman or sit around the gate area for an extra 45 minutes before your flight - ask a local what time you should show up at the airport. There's a very decent chance they'll give you crappy, non-detailed, and not particularly accurate advice.

Central Montana is in great need of more snow, and there's good news: up to 6" of fresh snow is headed for the Little Belt and Highwood Mountains by Saturday morning. Travel on King's Hill Pass and the surrounding area may be affected.

What was supposed to be a rainy day has turned out to be a snowy day in Bozeman and southwest Montana in general. Up to 4" of fresh snow could fall in town, with up to 9" of snow in the southern mountains by Thursday night.

Yellowstone National Park is supposed to get hammered with snow and wind on Thursday. Very gusty winds combined with several inches of snow will make for dangerous conditions in the park and the surrounding areas. High elevations are expecting the most snow.
