With Christmas rapidly approaching, Sleater-Kinney treated fans at a recent gig to a festive cover of the Ramones’ “Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight).”

The cover came during the opening moments of the trio’s encore at the House of Blues in Cleveland last night (Dec. 10). Carrie Brownstein took the lead, while Corin Tucker, Janet Weiss and touring bassist Katie Harkin packed plenty of punch. Check out the performance in the fan-shot video above.

Sleater-Kinney are in the midst of the second leg of their North American tour behind their great comeback album No Cities to Love. They’re set to pick things up with their first of five consecutive New York City shows tonight at Brooklyn’s Kings Theatre. Those dates conclude on Dec. 16 at Market Hotel in Brooklyn. Then the band will head to New Zealand and Australia. Check out all of their upcoming dates at their website.

No Cities to Love landed all the way back at the top of the year but it earned a special place in our 2015 consciousness -- it’s seated at No. 6 on our list of the 50 best albums of the past year.
