A combination of rain, heavy snow and strong winds have created some dangerous back country conditions around southwest Montana, prompting an Avalanche Warning to be issued.
The avalanche warning is currently rated HIGH in the Bozeman area along with other ranges in SW Montana. Details here from the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center:

The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center is issuing a Backcountry Avalanche Warning for the Southern Madison and Southern Gallatin Ranges and the Lionhead area near West Yellowstone. The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center is issuing a Backcountry Avalanche Warning for the Bridger and northern Gallatin Ranges as well as the mountains outside Cooke City. Heavy snowfall since Saturday has been deposited on a weak snowpack. Strong winds at all elevations have loaded slopes further. The avalanche danger is rated HIGH on all slopes.
The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center has issued a Backcountry Avalanche Warning for the Bridger and northern Gallatin Range, and will remain in effect until at least Wednesday morning. Recent heavy snows have created very unstable snowpack conditions.
