Fire Weather Watches have been issued for dangerous conditions in several northeast Montana counties because of high temperatures and very gusty winds.
Fire Weather Watches in the first week of March are not a great thing to see. Many counties in South Dakota along with a few in Wyoming are facing just that, this weekend.
The Bozeman area and several other counties may see dangerous winds on Thursday afternoon along with a Fire Weather Watch. Thankfully, the dangerous conditions shouldn't last more than a day.
Extreme caution should be used this weekend as temps rise back up to the 90s on Saturday with more gusty winds and continued low humidity. Fire danger is very high for nearly a dozen counties this weekend.
Very warm temperatures today across southwest Montana are contributing to very dangerous conditions in the Butte area. Watches and warnings have been an issue all week for most of the state.
Warm, windy and not covered in snow...not exactly what you think of when I say "Montana in the Winter". Winds up to 70 mph are possible on Saturday for Bozeman, Manhattan, Boulder and Townsend.
