I am a veteran, but many do not know that about me (until now, I guess). I spent almost five years in the United States Marine Corps as Security Forces and an infantry rifleman. My service has defined who I am (and who I am not) today.

I guess change can start from the outside in. This homeless veteran who struggles with alcoholism was given a makeover and has since taken back some control over his life, for the first time in decades. I wish we could do more for all of our veterans who have served our country. Check out this amazing video:
The national unemployment rate spiked following the 2008 financial crash, and it has remained stubbornly high ever since. Unfortunately, it has been even worse for returning American servicemembers. Today, though, Wal-Mart announced a plan to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years.
