Brutal weather has continued especially in the southern mountains, extending the dangerous conditions of back country travel.

Danger exists in the southern mountains after heavy snow and high winds the last several days.

Travel over southern mountain passes could be IMPOSSIBLE through Thursday morning with very heavy snow and gusty winds expected.

The higher elevations (mostly south of) Bozeman could see several more inches of snow by Monday afternoon.

Higher elevations SOUTH of Bozeman are in for another weekend of snow and very gusty winds.

The Bozeman may see some snow but the concern will be travel conditions for the canyon south towards Big Sky and West Yellowstone along with higher elevations.

Although the Bozeman area should see rain all day on Sunday, the southern portion of Gallatin County should get a few inches of snow.

The fire began in the Lee Metcalf Wilderness area and has moved into the west end of Yellowstone National Park.
