Montana is full of serious winter advisories through at least Sunday evening. Wind chills could dip to more than -40 with 35 mile an hour winds. Already bitter cold temperatures are making for treacherous conditions outside, and challenging situations for keeping homes warm.

With setup for such an incredibly busy weekend at hand, a Wind Chill Advisory for the Bozeman area and much of SW Montana is not terribly welcome. Wind chill of -25 are certainly possible overnight Thursday.

Perhaps our last dose of REALLY COLD wind chill factors? We can't be certain around here but western Montana is in for a dangerously cold spell overnight Wednesday through Thursday morning.

Breaking down or getting a flat tire in -30 wind chill is an entirely different scenario than when the weather is decent. It can actually become life or death in rural locations.

The northern portion of Montana hasn't warmed up nearly as quickly as southwest Montana. Wednesday night and Thursday morning will bring very gusty winds, causing dangerous wind chills to several counties.

The brutal cold temperatures are no secret this week. Gallatin County and most of Montana are under a week long deep freeze. Now add a Wind Chill Advisory on top of that.

The first brutal week of cold is here, and DANGEROUS wind chills are possible for several counties across Montana through at least Wednesday morning.

Extreme cold and gusty wind through the Butte area will cause SEVERE wind chill through at least noon on Monday.

This weather front coming through Montana is causing dangerous wind chills and treacherous driving conditions. Extreme caution should be used if traveling in southwest Montana for the next couple of days.

We've known about these cold temperatures for days but now we've got some details about how bad the wind chill will be in Bozeman and surrounding towns with this Wind Chill Advisory.

Most of Montana is under a Wind Chill Advisory through Tuesday at noon with temps plummeting to -20 and below. Be safe out there AND at home!
