Yellowstone Park technically never closes, but most of the roads do. Beginning November 1 there are just two gates open (weather permitting) throughout the winter.

Winter seemed to fly by, eh? In April, a few of the roads into Yellowstone National Park will open to vehicle traffic weather permitting, of course.

A few tourists enjoyed an up-close view of well over 100 Bison wandering down the road like they own the place...which they kind of do.

"Winter hours" doesn't mean limited access to the Boiling River. We were surprised to read how EARLY in the morning you can soak in the warm water down near Gardiner.
