Good news for area anglers! This Saturday, June 28, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will reopen the Yellowstone River in the Livingston area to all recreation. Details here:

This is a popular area for anglers, the closed stretch runs from Mayor's Landing fishing access site to 1000 feet below a construction site at the Park Avenue Bridge. An emergency closure was put in place in December (and amended in April) to address safety concerns associated with the direction and force of the Yellowstone's current, caused by a temporary work bridge at the construction site. Two boats were damaged when they collided with that temporary bridge.

FWP Commissioner Dan Vermillion says,

We are happy to be able to restore access to this important and especially popular reach of the Yellowstone. Thanks to all the anglers and other recreationists for their patience while we ensured it was once again safe for use.
