Additional Information

Element Film Festival is an annual student filmmaking event held in Bozeman, Montana. It began as a way for filmmakers of MSU’s MFA program in science and natural history filmmaking to showcase their work to the community. 2010 marked the first year that this festival was open to student filmmakers worldwide and it was a success. We look for innovative student filmmakers that strive to improve our understanding of science and the natural world through film.

We accept films from the traditional to the transformative, from the informational to the inspirational.
Past Element films and filmmakers have won numerous awards and recognitions, including National Student Emmys and Tellies. These films also appear at other highly competitive international film festivals.

This year’s festival will take place on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture in Bozeman, Montana. The Festival screenings will begin at 6:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., we will have an opening reception with refreshments. Food will be provided by the Emerson Grill, with a cash bar.
