Additional Information

On Saturday, November 19 at 8:00 p.m., a 70s themed costume dance party called “Funksgiving” will take place at the Eagles Ballroom (Upstairs) in Bozeman.

The event will feature 1970s costumes, dancing, and music by The Sweet Groovalicious Funk Machine, a band that plays “retro funk and soul with some ‘funkified’ versions of modern hits thrown in—all designed to get everyone dancing.”

While the event is primarily a costume dance party, there is also an awareness component.

“We’ve actually put on a couple other ‘Funksgiving’ parties that were private events, but they were so much fun we thought why not make it a public thing this year—and let’s bring in a non-profit who could benefit from more people knowing about the good work they’re doing,” describes David Thompson, one of the event organizers.

This year’s Funksgiving partner is Run Dog Run, a Bozeman-based non-profit that plans, funds and constructs off-leash dog parks while promoting responsible dog ownership practices.
