Just as planned, very gusty winds up to 65 mph are making their way across Montana including Gallatin and Madison counties today.

According to the National Weather Service:

HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON...

* TIMING... SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS MORNING AND REMAIN STRONG THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON. STRONGEST WINDS ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR FROM MID MORNING THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON.

* WINDS... SOUTHWEST TO WEST WINDS 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH. STRONGEST WINDS ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR OVER RIDGETOPS AND THROUGH MOUNTAIN PASSES... MAINLY ACROSS NORTHERN PORTIONS OF GALLATIN AND MADISON COUNTIES

* IMPACTS... STRONG WINDS MAY CAUSE DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
