Nationally, 77 new health insurance providers will be selling plans on the Affordable Care Act exchanges this November, and one of those new providers will be selling in Montana.

"We have a fourth issuer who will be selling in the marketplace next year," said Montana Securities and Insurance Commissioner Communications Director Jennifer McKee. The new issuer that we have is a company called Assurant, and they will join the three other issuers that sold in the marketplace last year; those were Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana, Pacific Source, and the Montana Health Co-Op."

Assurant is likely a familiar name for many Montanans.

"Assurant is not entirely new to the Montana market, they sold health insurance in Montana last year and for years before, the new thing here is that, last year, they decided not to sell through the insurance market place and this year they are," Mckee said.

Those interested in checking out the plans available can do so by going online to montanahealthanswers.com. Assurant's plans are not yet viewable online, but will be soon.
