Well, this is impressive.

All across the United States are thousands of cities and towns and many of them are lovely places to call home. Maybe it's the scenery, the social scene, or maybe it's just the people that make a town or city a special place to live.

Our friends over at Livability decided to take on the challenging task of putting together the list of the 100 Best Places To Live In The United States for 2023 and one Montana town has made the cut.

To be honest, I'm not sure how you would pick just one Montana town for the list.  The Treasure State is filled with wonderful places to call home.  From rustic and old school to modern and progressive, there's a place for everyone here in Montana, but according to the data, one town met all of the criteria that they were looking for.

So what Montana town made the list of 100 Best Places To Live In The U.S.?

That would be Missoula. The Garden City is the only Montana town to make the list.  Missoula is the second biggest town in Montana and is known for its beauty and, well let's just say...uniqueness. One of the criteria to make the list is to have a population between 75,000 and 500,000 which takes every town in Montana out of the running with the exception of Missoula and Billings.

According to Livability other factors that were considered were "economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health."

Make no mistake, Missoula is a great town, but there are a couple of things to take issue with.  The data says that the average median home value in Missoula is right around 350 thousand while the average rent is right around 900 a month.

A quick Google search shows that's not true.  According to Zillow the average median home value is over 530 thousand and Zumper says that the average rent for a one-bedroom is over 1200 a month.

What is true is that there is a ton of stuff to do, especially if you love the outdoors and the people are friendly. Plus, with the recent remodel and addition to the airport, it makes traveling to and from Missoula easier than ever.

So congrats to Missoula, nice job!
