Robert Plant Sets First 2013 US Tour Date, Fights to Save English Pub
Former Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant has announced his first  2013 American show with his backing band, Sensational Space Shifters. Plant and the Space Shifters will be performing at the inaugural JamBase Live Festival, taking place July 5-6 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. Other performers at the festival include Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers and Robert Randolph & the Family Band.
The singer has also thrown his support behind the Bell Community Buyout, which is raising money to rescue a Bath, UK venue called the Bell that is under the threat of closure. The public is being encouraged to buy shares ranging from £500 to £20,000 to help the venue remain open.
“For the last ten years or so many of my musical adventures have been with friends from Bristol and Bath, so I’m fully aware of the Bell and its legacy and its contribution to the musicians and audience in the surrounding area,” Plant says.
âTo me, the Bell is a crucial and integral venue and a great window into the world of music and entertainment in the West Country.”
