For smaller towns west and north of Bozeman this afternoon, damaging winds and significant hail are on the way.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued the following:

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... 
  eastern Jefferson County in southwestern Montana... 
  southwestern Broadwater County in southwestern Montana... 
  northwestern Gallatin County in south central Montana... 

* until 415 PM MDT

* at 335 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm
  capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in 
  excess of 60 mph. This storm was located near Three Forks moving 
  northeast at 35 mph.

* Locations impacted include... 
  Three Forks... Manhattan... Toston... Willow Creek... Trident... Logan
  and Maudlow.

This includes the following highways... Interstate 90 between mile markers 266 and 290.

Precautionary/preparedness actions... 

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds... destructive hail... 
deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection... move to
an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy
rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water
covers the Road.
