Flooding

Much of Wyoming in under a Flash Flood Warning today and it won't be surprising to see warnings and advisories issued today for parts of Montana. Here are the details for Wyoming as of Noon today.

Warm temperatures combined with heavy rain and snow in the high elevations could cause flooding in the Bozeman area.

There is an ice jam on the Gallatin River already causing flooding south of Gallatin Gateway. Flood Warning is in effect until 6pm Sunday night. Details here:

From our partners over at WZZM comes this story of a scary drive over a bridge. It happened on Lincoln Ave in Ionia. One minute the driver is crossing over what appears to be a normal bridge, the next minute the bridge is collapsing and nearly sends his vehicle plunging over the side...

A flood warning continues until further notice for the Gallatin River near Logan. Ice jams are to blame for the warning. As of now the river is at 8.8 feet and flood stage is 9 feet. This video demonstrates a "river tsunami" on the Gallatin from earlier this winter.

A Flood Warning has been issued for the Gallatin River near Logan until further notice. An ice jam has forced the river out of its banks. No roads or structures are threatened at this time, but ice jams are unpredictable, and sudden rises in river levels could occur.
