It’s hard to deny that Journey singer Arnel Pineda’s rise to success is a unique and moving story. The frontman was discovered by Journey guitarist Neal Schon, who caught a video of Pineda performing with his former cover band Zoo on YouTube, and the rest is as they say, history.
Every once in a while Neal Schon takes a break from being Journey‘s guitarist and explores a different side of his creativity. The latest fruits of his labor, ‘The Calling,’ his seventh solo album, will be released on Frontiers Records on Oct. 23.

The celebrity gossip website TheDirty.com has removed a naked picture of Neal Schon after receiving a cease-and-desist letter from the Journey guitarist’s attorney. The self-shot picture depicts Schon standing in front of a bathroom mirror with his shirt pulled up and naked from the chest down.
Since his departure from Journey in 1998, former vocalist Steve Perry has been absent both from the concert stage and the recording studio. But in a new interview, Perry reveals that he’s got quite a bit of material done, and is working to complete construction on a home studio with the aim to develop and finally record some new songs. He’s also made peace with the fact that his former group continues to perform without him.
