The Roaring Lion Fire which started on the last day of July, is located just 5 miles south of Hamilton, Montana. It's "birth" was captured on video.

This security camera footage captured the very start of the Roaring Lion Fire and it grew quite quickly in its first few hours.

Although this particular fire has been largely contained, as of Monday August 15th the Forest Service reported this:

Closures: Area closures remain in effect. Camas Creek, Coyote Coulee, Roaring Lion, Sawtooth and Ward Mountain Trailheads are all closed and will remain closed until the risk to the public has been mitigated.

The closure also includes the Coyote Coulee trail system and trail #59 up the North Fork of Lost Horse Creek. Observation Point road is also closed.
