White Sulphur Springs schools canceled classes on Monday after an apparent threat was posted to social media late Sunday night.

A message on the school district's website says that police, in both Meagher and Lewis & Clark counties, have investigated the threat and have determined that it is no longer viable.

The message goes on to say that the individual allegedly responsible for the posts on social media has been identified and law enforcement is handling the situation.

The threat is said to have originated in Helena and law enforcement there is working on handling the investigation.

Classes at White Sulphur Springs schools will resume on Tuesday as scheduled.
