Another layer of snow, along with gusty winds, are headed to southwest Montana with several inches of snow possible in the valleys and up to 10" possible in the mountains.
A mid March storm is headed for SW Montana and the highest elevations could get up to 10 fresh inches of snow, with at least a few inches expected in the valleys.
All of these Montana closing dates are subject to change at each ski resort's discretion, depending on end of season snow conditions and other factors. Several Montana areas have flexibility in their closing dates.

Digging a pit is the best way to really see what's happening with the snowpack. Facets are there, but it appears the snow is not breaking as easily as it was just a few days ago.
