Snowpack In Pretty Good Shape, Avalanche Center Tests Southern Gallatin County

Digging a pit is the best way to really see what's happening with the snowpack. Facets are there, but it appears the snow is not breaking as easily as it was just a few days ago.

The Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center headed out yesterday to an area around Hebgen Lake to test the snow.
