Did You Know That 2013 Spruce Moose Headliners Ozomatli Have Their Own Coffee?
We are so honored to have Ozomatli taking part in this year’s Spruce Moose Festival. They’ll be spreading love and peace through their music at Big Sky Resort this Labor Day weekend, just as they have done all over the world. Would you buy music and other products from good musicians who have also been name U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors? Here are some reasons why you need to buy a 2013 Spruce Moose pass…and their coffee!
Ozomatli was appointed by the U.S. State Department in 2006 to serve as official Cultural Ambassadors on a series of government-sponsored international tours to Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East. Ozo has always been known for its vigilant anti-war stance and despite their public opposition to the Bush administration, they decided to partner with them in this appointment due to a larger ‘world view’. The band said it was all about responding to a global “cry for change” by using music to promote messages of peace and understanding.
Ozomatli didn’t just play free public concerts all over the world, but also offered musical workshops and master classes, as well as visiting art centers, summer camps, youth rehabilitation centers, and even a Palestinian refugee camp. And, they’re great musicians! You can feel the love in their Latin-infused blend of rock, hip-hop, salsa, funk, merengue (and more). World ambassadors who promote peace through their unique, refreshing sound. I know these are the type of artists I want to support.
I completely support and advise buying their music. Ozomatli has a great live album called Live at the Fillmore, that will give you an idea of what to expect at this year’s Spruce Moose Festival. They just put out an awesome kids album called Ozomatli Presents Ozokidz, that you AND the kiddos will enjoy! They also make really good coffee. Ozomatli’s coffee, Zona Rosa Caffe, is quality, organic Latin American coffee.
The most enjoyable way to support Ozomatli is by seeing them live at Big Sky Resort at the end of the month. Don’t miss the 2013 Spruce Moose Festival on August 30 – 31, featuring Ozomatli, Galactic and Chali 2na.
