Montana Shakespeare in the Parks has set an inaugural gala fundraiser, "A Midwinter Night's Dream," Saturday, February 15, in the Black Box Theater on the campus of Montana State University. Details:

Kevin Asselin, new artistic director of Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, will direct the evening's performance "Father and Son," which will present scenes from "Henry IV." Gretchen Minton, MSU English professor and Shakespearean scholar, will guide the audience through the story, providing historical background and setting up the action of each scene. The scenes will be performed by actors Will Dickerson, Tom Morris and Ray Schultz.

The night will be full of other festivities, including the music of Jake Fleming, Renaissance dance lessons with Bridger View Ballet, food by ADOUR and libations by Plonk. Asselin will also announce the 2014 Montana Shakespeare in the Parks season and his plans for the company's thriving educational outreach programs, Shakespeare in the Schools and Montana Shakes.

Tickets for "A Midwinter Night's Dream" are $50 and are available by calling the Montana Shakespeare in the Parks office at 994-3111.
