Wortman was rushed into surgery in 2008 at Mayo Clinic to remove a 3cm tumor and more than one of her lung lobes. After proper treatment and recovery, her loving husband and coach, Jerry, helped Linda find a new passion for running with only a lung-and-a-half. They recently completed a 5K race in all 50 states and a 10K on 3 continents to bring awareness about lung cancer, which kills more men and women annually than Breast, Prostate, Colon, Kidney and Melanoma Cancers combined.
