Sunday Acoustic Brunch:3.13.11- Michelle’s desk, music & me.

Nothing like a well timed phone call (well timed being the key here) to ask Wolfe an important question.  I called ahead  to see if she  would stop in today and let me into her office to go through the hundreds of new CD’s on her desk. ( I’ve been waiting for a few new CD’s and have been needing some fresh tracks for the Brunch) With Spring on the horizon its seems this is the best time to get it tackled.  The phone call worked and the afternoon was spent listening to that big pile of CD’s- about 250 ish total.

A stack at a time is how the afternoon progressed. Im walking away with 37 of them to listen to again and then mark the most interesting groovy tracks from each that will fit our little Sunday morning music fest. Some are way over due- CD’s that were released this past Fall,  some are very timely and others timeless tracks that will seamlessly fall right into place. Needless to say- I’m completely excited to get back in here next Sunday morning and share them with you.

Robert Plants ‘Band of Joy,’ Amos Lee, Iron and Wine,  Suzanne Vegas album of stripped down love songs, Michael Franti,  William Fitzsimmons and Ben Harpers side project Fistful of Mercy are part of the group. There are also some fresh faces in the pile of 37- new to me at least. So, till next week when we break this fresh batch of eggs wide open- enjoy this Spring like weather and have a fun St. Patricks Day! Make it a great week.
