New Study Reveals 59% of America’s “Tuna” Isn’t Actually Tuna
February 22, 2013 I seriously made myself a tuna fish sandwich for lunch today, and then got to work and saw this. A nonprofit ocean protection group has genetically tested over a thousand samples of fish from across the U.S. and found some pretty disturbing facts, especially concerning what is labeled "tuna". 84% of fish samples labeled "white tuna", for example, were actually escolar, a fish that can cause prolonged, uncontrollable, (wait for it).......oily anal leakage.
