What to do this weekend? I think I'll take the opportunity to help promote pride of place and sustainability in our community. This should  be very important to us all and I, for one, am thrilled that The Gallatin Earth Celebration is taking place this week in Bozeman (April 16-22, 2011). The week long celebration is a partnership between MSU, the city of Bozeman, local businesses, organizations and CITIZENS. So let's do our part!

There are many ways to participate in this celebration. You can volunteer to help clean up our neighborhoods, participate in other events this week to help promote sustainability, and educate yourself on how to advance sustainability in our region (following this week).

The Gallatin Earth Celebration kicked off today (April 16th) with a Clean Up Day and Celebration at Bogert Park. I will be participating in tomorrow's Run For The Earth. Run locally and think globally at this event, which kicks off at 9:30am. All courses begin and end at the Bozeman Public Library and will utilize the Linear Trail system. It features a 1 mile fun-run, a 5k, and a 10k (the 1 mile and 5k are both dog and stroller friendly). You can register right there at the event tomorrow morning.

I will also particpate in any other events I can this week because it really does mean a lot. Let's do our part for future generations. Learn, promote and volunteer this week! Here is the full GEC schedule this week.
