I thought I'd just drop some recent headlines you Moose listeners might be interested in:

New Stone Temple Pilots Album On The Way

The Stone Temple Pilots got back together in 2008 and immediately began touring across North America. A new self titled album was later released in May of 2010. Surprisingly, drummer Eric Kretz just announced that fans can expect the band's 7th studio album "very soon". I think this is a bit surprising considering they released an album last May and the band announced just a couple months ago that they were taking a short hiatus. During a September show in Texas, lead singer and recovering drug addict Scott Weiland said that he started drinking again after the recent death of his brother and seperation from his wife. He rightfully said he needed to take some time off to take care of himself.

Pearl Jam Will Release A New Live Album

While we're on news  of new album releases, Pearl Jam will kick off their 20th Anniversary year with the release of a new live compilation album. "Live On Ten Legs" will feature 18 live Pearl Jam tracks recorded over the course of the band's 2003-2010 world tours. The album will be released in the States on January 18th, 2011.

The Rolling Stones To Tour Again in 2011

In other big news for the upcoming year, The Stones will hit the road again. Amazing! These old stones continue to unturn. Keith Richards just released plans for the Rolling Stones to tour again in 2011 while doing press for his autobiography "Life". That should be an interesting read by the way, to say the least.

Robert Plant To Be Featured In New Documentary

Keeping on the subject of ageless rock legends, Robert Plant is set to be the subject of a new BBC documentary following the release of his new album, "Band of Joy". I love the BBC, I think they produce excellent programming and who doesn't love Robert Plant? The Moose does, we are currently playing his new single "Angel Dance", off of "Band of Joy". The new BBC documentary will shed light on Plant's solo ventures.

Live Music Coming To An Airport Near You?

Finally, is there a new trend forming where artists need to schedule an airport on their concert dates? Taylor Swift recently performed live in a Jet Blue terminal and Metallica just put on a show in Hanger Eight athe the Santa Monica Airport. The Metallica show was to promote the release of the new Call of Duty: Black Ops video game. I like it, that would be a day an airline could actually justify their new baggage fees!

Rock On!
