What do you get when a great band takes a 4-year hiatus to re-energize and comes back with a new member, a new label, and works with new big-name producers? Spoon has proved that to be a recipe for success. Just listen to their new album, They Want My Soul.

The Austin indie rockers 8th full-length studio release is the first one that features new member Alex Fischel on keyboards and guitar, and producers Joe Chiccarelli and Dave Fridmann. It's also a new album that I enjoy from start to finish. For me, that's a modern rarity. The only other albums from recent years that come to mind that fit in that category are Bruce Springsteen's Wrecking Ball and Ryan Bingham's Tomorrowland.
