Gallatin County has been included in the long list of Weather Statements for the next 48 hours. Temperatures are going to drop dramatically and snow will fall, especially in the higher elevations.

Winter weather is finally here with the Red Lodge, Montana area under a Winter Storm Watch Wednesday through Thursday. The highest elevations could see up to 18 inches of snow!

Although most of the expected snow fell overnight, we may see a bit more snow in Bozeman today and the surrounding passes Tuesday.

A front heading down from Canada will cause a few inches of snow to fall in the Kalispell area with gusty winds making travel occasionally hazardous.

Bozeman will probably get a mix of slushy rain and snow for the next few days but higher elevations should see snow accumulation of several inches.

Montana's warm Fall weather will be turning with several Watches and Advisories becoming active. Red Lodge and the Beartooth Pass will be under a Winter Storm Watch until Tuesday evening for snow and gusty winds.

Although the City of Butte may only see a dusting of snow (if any), elevations above 5,000 or 6,000 feet may see a few inches by noon on Monday with this Winter Weather Advisory.

A few inches of snow are possible in the high elevations around Butte later this weekend. Bad news for summer lovers, good news for fire danger.

It’s now known what caused a massive power outage in Bozeman early Tuesday morning that left thousands without power.

Only a couple of inches are likely in town, but the highest elevations could see up to 8 inches of snow through noon on Tuesday.

1-90 has been deemed the "dividing line" for snowfall in this storm front which should be bring several inches of snow and strong winds at times.

Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday could bring heavy, wet snow and wind to several parts of southwest Montana. Livingston, Big Timber and Red Lodge are all included.
