Seattle's All the Real Girls – the project of singer-songwriter-actor Peter Donovan – have shared the first single and title track from their upcoming debut album, Elk City

Produced by John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Nada Surf), the 12-song album features contributions from Jason McGerr of Death Cab for Cutie, Jim Roth of Built to Spill, Steve Fisk of Pell Mell, Eric Corso of the Long Winters, Eric Howk of the Lashes and Shelby Earl.

Donovan said all of the songs were inspired by the stories he heard told by a 70 year-old woman he met near Bakersfield, Calif. while shooting the indie film, Lost on Purpose. "She started giving me her entire family history, like five generations of it," he said in a press release. "Adultery, botched kidnappings, crazy cult leaders, schizophrenic starlets.  It was nuts... I was writing as soon as I got back to my room."

Elk City will be released independently on June 17.
