Beck Sells Canyon Home for $3.4 Million
After just two years, Beck and his wife, actress Marissa Ribisi, have sold their Brentwood, Calif., home for $3.44 million.
That's down from the 2528 Mandeville Canyon Road listing price, which in October 2017 was $3.75 million.
They purchased the Brittany Tudor from director-screenwriter James Mangold and producer Cathy Konrad for $3.15 million. The home and grounds have since been updated, featuring a renovated kitchen, separate dining room, butler's pantry and exposed brick, as well as thick hand-hewn beams, large picture windows, French doors and a brick fireplace.
Designed by Gerard Colcord, the property is walled and gated, its 2,620 square feet sit on an acre of land in the Mandeville Canyon featuring patios, a lawn, mature trees, hedges and a private trail leading to the back hillside with mountain views. The three-bed, two-bath home also features a guest room above the detached garage.
The couple has previously flipped houses, including a 1920 Tudor cottage in Santa Monica, which they purchased in February 2015 for $2.7 million and sold just five months later for $2.9 million. In 2010, however, they took a big loss on a Hancock Park property they purchased in 2007 for $6.75 million; it sold to television writer and producer Shonda Rhimes for $5.6 million. They still own properties in Los Feliz and Malibu.
Late last month, Beck announced a spring tour that will begin today (Feb. 24), in Sydney in support of his latest work, Colors, and he'll return for North American dates in late March. His follow-up to 2014's Morning Phase, the album was released in October 2017. Just prior to its release, a song from the record, "Square One," was featured on the Season Two trailer for HBO's Divorce.
