For more than five decades, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks has brought the magic of live theater to communities across the state, and this month the beloved summer tradition returns to Bozeman.

Now celebrating its 54th season, Montana Shakespeare in the Parks will present two classic productions at the Montana State University Duck Ponds. Audiences can enjoy The Merchant of Venice from June 10-13, followed by Much Ado About Nothing from June 17-20.

All performances are free and begin at 8 p.m., but attendees are encouraged to arrive early. Each evening starts with a special pre-show event at 7 p.m. as part of the organization's "Share the Stage" program, which showcases local performers and community talent before the main production.

The outdoor performances offer a unique opportunity for families, students, and theater lovers to enjoy professional Shakespeare productions under Montana's summer sky. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended. Guests are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs, though those using taller chairs are asked to sit toward the back so people sitting on blankets up front can see.

Parking on the Montana State University campus is free after 6 p.m., with the exception of the parking garage. The Bobcat 3 lot near Grant Street and Lincoln Avenue is the closest parking area to the Duck Ponds.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks also offers accessibility options for audience members who would like enhanced audio. Personal FM receivers and headphones can be borrowed free of charge at the merchandise table. Guests may also use the AudioFetch app on their own devices by connecting to the "Shakespeare!" Wi-Fi network and listening through personal headphones.

The performances are free to attend and open to the public. For the entire summer schedule, visit the Montana Shakespeare in the Parks website.
