The April 20 event, which starts at 6:30 pm in the Bozeman Public Library, features an evening of entertainment, food, prizes, and merrymaking – all aimed at celebrating the role of the public library as a vital community institution in Bozeman and Southwest Montana.

Bozeman Public Library Foundation director Paula Beswick says that a number of special events are planned for this year’s Cornerstone. Besides the appearances by Wilkinson and Quammen, the program includes improv comedy by The Verge Theater, an audience participation game with prizes provided by Ted’s Montana Grill restaurant, and live music by Jim Averitt, Sally Newsome, Mark Dixon, and Bob Packwood.

Ted’s Montana Grill will provide food and offer two of their specialty drinks. Serving up the libations are Celebrity Bartenders Mike Phillips, a Montana State Senator and Executive Director of the Turner Endangered Species Fund, and Russ Miller, VP/General Manager of Turner Enterprises, based in Bozeman, which manages all 16 of Turner’s ranches in Montana and the West.

Thematic raffle prizes, related to Turner’s wide-ranging philanthropic interests, include a chance to win a private tour of the Flying D (from the Gallatin to the Madison rivers), a bike from Chalet Sports, a CSA share from MSU’s Townes Harvest Garden, and other items. The Country Bookshelf will be selling Wilkinson’s and Quammen’s books with a portion of sales going to the Library Foundation.

Tickets are $75/person for $125/for two. For tickets, please call Paula at 582-2426.
