Wandering Moose in Bozeman Becomes Feel-Good National Story

A story about a moose roaming around Bozeman, Montana, has made national headlines, and it's a heartwarming story that the world needs right now.

I never thought that a moose sighting in Bozeman would make national news, but here we are. If you're one of the few who haven't heard, a moose was spotted running around Bozeman last week. While it's not groundbreaking news, some people thought it was a pretty big deal.

A little backstory. I was in The MOOSE 94.7 studio last Monday, April 20, when a coworker showed up for work and said, "There's a moose outside." We all went outside to check it out, but made sure to stay a safe distance away.

It appeared to be a cow moose, and it was lying on the sidewalk in front of the building next to ours. Our office is off Stucky on the south end of town.

It's not every day that you spot a moose hanging out outside the MOOSE studio. I didn't realize it when I took the photo, but the moose sighting was big news in Bozeman, and soon after, everyone was talking about it.

I even had a reporter from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reach out and ask for permission to use the photo. Honestly, I was kind of flattered.

Today, I saw that People Magazine published a story. The title is Moose on the Loose in Montana Spotted Snoozing in Front of "The Moose" Radio Station. You can read it here.

I love that the story has taken on a life of its own and that other people are enjoying it. With all of the chaos happening in the world, a little good news helps every now and then.
