Bozeman Locals Share Advice: The Best Places For Eggs Benedict
Eggs Benedict is an absolute favorite dish in the Bozeman area and locals take it very seriously. There are so many variations these days that you can find several different kinds of benedict that are all crave-able. Salmon, crab, speck, bacon, traditional ham - the options are endless.
When we put out the question, "Where is the most surprising place in Montana where you found REALLY GOOD Eggs Benedict? Super fancy or greasy spoons all welcome", locals answered the call in droves. Dozens of responses came back to us, and some restaurants were clear favorites.
NOTE: Although I have tried several of these suggestions for eggs benedict as it's my absolute favorite meal, I have NOT tried all of these so cannot vouch personally for them. What I CAN say is that all restaurants that were suggested are legit, good places to eat. The following were all suggested by our listeners.
Cateye Café (23 North Tracy, downtown Bozeman) Now, the Cateye Café is a winner in my book for every meal I've ever had there. However, I've never had eggs benedict there and I don't actually see it on their regular menu. That might mean it's a special once in a while - I'm unsure. So, if you're hellbent on eggs benny, you should call ahead to make sure they've got it that day. Cateye Café on Facebook.
Faye's Café in Livingston (415 East Lewis, Livingston) Hands down, this joint is a local's favorite for miles around. A gem of Livingston, folks from Bozeman and Belgrade will drive over the pass just to have breakfast here. Ever had eggs benedict with waffles? The whole menu is made with love and worth your effort to get in. Faye's Café on Facebook.
Center Ice Café (11 North Broadway, Belgrade) This hockey themed café in Belgrade is worth the trip if you're looking for tasty, hometown breakfasts and lunches. In addition to menu items, you might find specials like cheesecake pancakes - not to mention their great crew of people.
Main Street Overeasy (9 East Main Street, downtown Bozeman) A breakfast institution since it's opening, you'll find a few varieties of eggs benedict at Mainstreet Overeasy. My personal fave is made with smoked salmon, but it's all personal preference of course. Main Street Overeasy on Facebook.
The Western Café (443 East Main Street, downtown Bozeman) A historic, downtown staple for locals and visitors alike, it's no surprise that The Western got votes for the best eggs benedict. Known as "the last best café", you'll find all the classics - made with love - at The Western. The Western Café on Facebook.
The Mint Bar & Grill in Livingston (102 North Main Street, Livingston) The Mint is generally NOT open until 4pm but we're guessing this local was referring to their Sunday Brunch offerings. Best to call ahead and see what they have planned for their Sunday menu if you're looking for eggs benny. The Mint in Livingston on Facebook.
Storm Castle Café (5 Tai Lane, Bozeman) Located near MSU's Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, this out of the way local's favorite is someplace you show up HUNGRY. Seriously, they don't do anything small here. They use tons of locally sourced ingredients and you can taste the difference. There's usually a wait, and they don't take reservations so bring a little patience if you're arriving during peak weekend hours. It's popular for a reason. Storm Castle Café on Facebook.
JAM! (25 West Main Street, downtown Bozeman) No reservations and open 7 days a week, this is the place for you if great food goes well with a mimosa and fresh coffee. You can even mix-and-match your eggs benedict. Winner. JAM on Facebook.
