4 Reasons the Incredibly Busy Bozeman Airport is Still Awesome
You don't have to be an expert world traveler to appreciate a great airport. Most of them suck for lots of reasons, making the pleasant airports (like Bozeman) easier to love. I actually feel lucky to call Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport my home base.
Traveling isn't as fun as it used to be. The being on vacation part is great, but the physical act of flying back and forth has certainly lots it's luster. Security lines snake back and forth, bathrooms are dirty, prices are high, employees are stressed, and flyers are often unprepared and demanding. It's not great.
Bozeman is the busiest airport in the state of Montana, and has been for years. Do you need to get there early for your flight? Absolutely. But our airport is so well run that you'll rarely have much of anything to be grumpy about. (Sure, airport food and drink is expensive everywhere, but that's about it.)
Sometimes it's all about the basics that make an experience a good one. An airport doesn't have to have shopping malls and theme parks to make people happy - it has to function properly and flow well. That's about it.
PEOPLE WHO WORK AT BZN ARE POLITE PROFESSIONALS: Not once, in all my years of flying have I encountered a rude employee at the Bozeman airport. Airline counters, bars and restaurants, gates, luggage, security - those folks are top notch. Now some passengers, on the other hand, act like entitled, inexperienced idiots with zero patience.
FOOD AT BZN IS REALLY PRETTY GOOD: Perhaps it's because the Bozeman airport isn't overrun with every fast food mini-shop in the world...if you want to eat before your flight, the food is quite good. We often get there early just so we can relax and grab a bite to eat before we split. Tasty food, huge variety of drinks, and plenty of space to get in the travel mood.

THE BOZEMAN AIRPORT IS ALWAYS CLEAN: Even when they're adding a new wing or gate, that airport is oddly clean. There is never any trash blowing in the parking lot, the terminal carpet is always vacuumed, and the restrooms are very clean. Most other airports look like they're barely touched throughout the day.
PARKING IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE: You can argue about the cost of parking at an airport all you want, but at least we have ENOUGH parking. They planned well for Bozeman's growth. You might not get the closest spot but you'll find a spot - in the lot or in the garage.
