Cactus Records might be the first store I walked into when I moved to Bozeman many moons ago. When you walk into this local institution, you know you've found your people and your place. Unless you don't appreciate music...then you've got issues.

This Saturday, April 23rd is Record Store Day. It ALSO is the Grand Re-Opening Celebration for our beloved Cactus Records, in their brand new location on the west side of town. Forgive me for sounding dramatic, but this is a really big deal. Supporting great, local businesses is more important than EVER.

OFFICAL FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE FOR THE CACTUS GRAND RE-OPENING

Cactus Records and Gifts, a downtown institution for half a century, was forced to move when its iconic space at 29 West Main was put on sale for an asking price roughly equivalent to the total cost of 65,000 Olivia Rodrigo records.
As tourists sighed and locals cried at the news of Cactus’ departure, long-time owner Mike “Bueno” Good and his devoted staff have moved thousands of records, t-shirts, stickers, posters, incense burners and miscellaneous “weirdo store” paraphernalia to the store’s new home at 2742 West Main, between the Montana Science Center and Rook’s Games, across the street from the Gallatin Valley Mall.

Really, I hope you can stop by on Saturday. (No, they didn't pay me to say that.) Cactus Records deserves our support for being such a cool, locally owned music store. The selection is great, they do special orders for ya, the gifts and t-shirts are super fun...we're totally here for it.
