In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Montana Governor Steve Bullock announced a plan to extend closures for schools and dine-in restaurants through April 10.

The announcement comes as Montana continues to see a rise in confirmed COVID-19 cases. As of Tuesday afternoon, 51 cases have been confirmed in Montana. 19 cases have been confirmed in Gallatin County.

Bullock also stressed the importance of social distancing at this time, saying that the "ability to actually control the spread does rest with each and every one of us. Social distancing is more important than ever."

Bullock also issued a directive prohibiting non-essential social and recreational gatherings of individuals outside of a home or place of residence of greater than 10 people if a distance of at least six feet between individuals cannot be maintained.
