I have had this on my mind for over a month, and after the other day, I just can not hold it in anymore.

We all have seen, what I believe some are calling "camper's row" off of 19th. If you haven't seen it, here are a couple of pictures.

This is what I have gathered from why all of these campers, busses, cars, etc are parked here.

1. Housing isn't available/affordable
2. It's free with mountain views.

Now here is the real issue I have with this whole situation.

It's so crowded you can't even fit two vehicles down the one road shown here. I see signs ALL over saying "no parking from here to corner". That doesn't clearly apply here. Why? I would have a ticket if I parked like this in downtown Bozeman.

The dumpster is constantly so full that garbage is blowing all over. Where did this dumpster come from? I understand it could be a way to keep garbage "contained" and with wishful thinking that people would use it appropriately, but that is only half the case here.

I did take into consideration that when other people throughout the community see a dumpster, some will just throw their trash in it, even if it isn't theirs. If that is the case, then clearly, as you can see in the picture, it needs to be dumped more often. Homeowners all pay for their garbage services, so this FREE service to "camper row", should at least be monitored. Just putting that out there.

Just a couple of days ago as I watched a man in a pickup follow a woman in her car honking profusely and yelling profanity at her, then he continued to follow her through another parking lot, then eventually turned off. Why? Because she was going too slow as she was trying to turn down the road that is packed.

Now don't get me wrong, I fully understand the crazy prices that are here in Bozeman. My first apartment increased rent by over $300 a month and others have increased by over $500 a month.

All I am saying is, take some pride. It is all adults that live in these spots, and grocery carts full of things, bedding and garbage all over, and parking to the point where no one can see around the corner is a safety hazard. It would absolutely NOT be tolerated in any other part of our town. So why are we allowing it here?
