Watch Eddie Vedder Busking Outside Wrigley Field – Twice
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has been filmed busking outside Wrigley Field, the home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team. The video above shows him playing alongside two other musicians on Friday night (Sept. 15) – including a performance of his band’s song “Courduroy” – while the video below shows him playing drums on the street two days later.
Vedder, a longtime fan of the Cubs, led Pearl Jam through two performances at Wrigley Field last year, as the team made their way towards their historic World Series championship win for the first time in 108 years. The resultant concert movie, Let’s Play Two, will have its premiere in Chicago on Sept. 27 and 28 for members of the band’s Ten Club. It will then be screened in select theaters around the world between Sept. 29 and Oct. 3, before going on general sale on Nov. 17. It will be broadcast on FS1 network on Oct 31, while the accompanying soundtrack album is released on Sept. 29.
The producers said, “With Chicago being a hometown to Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam has forged a relationship with the city, the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field that is unparalleled in the world of sports and music. From Ten to Lightning Bolt, the feature film shuffles through Pearl Jam’s ever-growing catalogue of originals and covers, spanning the band's twenty-five-year career.
“Through the eyes of director Danny Clinch and the voice of Pearl Jam, the film showcases the journey of the special relationship, using the past and present of both the band and the Chicago Cubs through the music, the sweat and the eternal hopes of being both a Cubs and Pearl Jam fan.”
Vedder was recently seen performing his solo track "Out of Sand" in the penultimate episode of Twin Peaks.
