An unplugged version of the Foo Fighters hit the stage of San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts this afternoon (Sept. 12) to close out Apple's iPhone 5 launch event, during which the computer company unveiled the latest version of its popular smartphone.

The press conference, which also featured announcements about new "ultra-thin" iPod touch and iPod nanos and a newly redesigned iTunes, was closed out by the Foos' set. Even with the band performing mellowed-out acoustic versions of hits like 'Times Like These' and 'Hero,' the presence of Dave Grohl and the boys seemed to be a head-scratcher for many of the techies on hand -- though perhaps not as much as when rapper Kayne West closed out a 2005 Apple event with a set that included 'Gold Digger.'

"One of the incredible things about being here is that you're meeting people who are shaping our future," Dave Grohl told the crowd at some point during their set. "And just like Little Richard, Tom Petty and Jimmy Page, these are just people who took it upon themselves to change our future, but you meet them and they're people! And this one's dedicated to all those people."
