Psy Finally Promises an End to ‘Gangnam Style’
After reigning supreme for months as arguably the most popular song on the planet, the inescapable 'Gangnam Style' may finally be coming to an end. And with that, the internet breathes a collective sigh of relief.
According to Korean rapper Psy, who turned 35 on Monday, his performance of the song on 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve' earlier in the week will be his last in the US.
"Being in Times Square on New Year's Eve is already special. It's the biggest stage in the universe. Plus, it's my birthday, so, with all that, it may be the ending of 'Gangnam Style,'" he said. "I mean, what better way to do it? It's my biggest and most meaningful birthday."
Instead of flogging his patented horsey dance forever, Psy now plans to focus his attention on a new song.
"['Gangnam Style'] became too popular, and so you start to have some concern about its life period," he said. "I'm really working hard on a new single right now."
Will you miss Psy's live performances of the song? Or are you ready for something new?
